American skater Armin Mahbanoozadeh has decided to step away from the competitive arena to concentrate on school.
Last season was a disappointing one for the 21-year-old Virginia native. After claiming silver at the inaugural U.S.
International Figure Skating Classic in Salt Lake City, he ranked seventh at Skate America and 13th at the 2013 U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
The 2007 U.S. novice champion and two-time Junior Grand Prix Final medalist told roving reporter, Sarah Brennan, “I had a long talk with my parents, and we agreed that it was probably for the best. It's a good time to move on with the next chapter in my life.”
